Jennifer Rioux is one of the first 20 Doctors of Ayurveda approved for professional membership in the U.S. She has been on faculty at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and the University of New Mexico Medical School. She has conducted research at the University of Arizona and was on the collaborative care team at Andrew Weil's Center for Integrative Medicine.

Dr. Jennifer Rioux holds a doctorate in medical anthropology with certifications in Ayurveda, Yoga and Herbalism.


Dr. Rioux has been a practicing Ayurvedic clinician and Yoga therapist since 2000.


She specializes in treatment of health promotion and disease prevention. She has worked with patients on such issues as: obesity,  mood and digestive disorders, hormonal imbalance, chronic pain, and women’s and children’s health.

Dr. Rioux is an internationally recognized expert on  Ayurvdea, Yoga Therapy and whole-systems research and has presented to audiences nationwide and internationally on clinical issues related to Integrative Medicine, Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy


Dr. Rioux is also a researcher who conducted the first whole-system clinical trial of Yoga and Ayurveda for obesity and has published in numerous peer reviewed medical journals.


Her research has been cited by the National Center for Integrative Medicine and Health as evidence of the effectiveness of mind-body approaches for weight loss.
